Basic Aqua Fitness Classes

Our Basic water fitness classes offer a low intense workout for 45 minutes. Instructors will be focusing on general muscle strength, flexibility and endurance.


Aqua Movements

Mon 8:15-9:00am
 - Tues & Thurs 8:30-9:15am

 - Mon - Fri 10:25-11:10am EXCEPT Wednesday 10:30 - 11:15AM
Fee: 8 week session $25

This aqua fitness class is held in the shallow water for participants who are seeking a less intense workout. Classes will use the water's natural resistance for increasing muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular efficiency with reduced stress on joints. Safe, effective and most of all fun!

Silver Sneakers Silver Splash Aqua Class

Tuesday & Thursday 10:25am - 11:10am & 11:30am-12:15pm
 - Wednesday & Friday 8:15am-9:00am

Silver Sneakers is the nation's largest fitness program designed specifically for older adults. It is a preventive and maintenance program focusing on cardiovascular health, balance & stability, and increased range of motion to benefit daily living.

Open to all AJCC members and Silver Sneakers members / participants. (Max. 25)


Intermediate Aquatic Fitness Classes


Wet Workout
 - Mon & Fri 9:00-9:55am
 - Mon & Wed 7:00-8:00pm

This is a moderate intensity fast-paced workout in shallow and deep water. Wet Workout focuses on gaining muscular strength and cardiovascular efficiency. Belts are provided. Participants should be comfortable in deep water.

Water Exercise for Arthritis (AFAP)
 - Monday - Wednesday - Friday 11:15 - 12:15

An Arthritis Foundation Aquatics program, this shallow-water exercise class is specifically designed for people with arthritis. The focus is on stretching and strengthening muscles without stressing the joints.

Fee: $25 AJCC members/ Non-members $45

Aqua Zumba Class
 - Wednesday: 9:15am-10:15am

Jump in the pool and dance away the calories at Aqua Zumba. This hour-long, group-fitness class follows the traditional Zumba format of Latin moves done to upbeat, shimmy-inducing tunes, but it's performed in the shallow end of a pool. Thanks to the resistance of the water, every salsa, merenge, and reggaeton step takes a bit more effort (which helps work your muscles even harder!) The dance combinations are slightly slower than the ones you do in a typical Zumba class, but the energy is just as high: If you love the original Zumba class, or if you couldn't take one because of an injury or joint problems- the water workout is a fun, low-impact way to get in on the dance party this Fall.

Advanced Aquatic Fitness Classes


Ultimate Aqua Zumba
Saturday 10:30 - 11:30 am & Wednesday 7:30-8:15 pm

If you love the original Zumba class try this low impact, high energy aqua version.

8 Week Summer Session: Members $65.00, Guests $95.00

Aquatic Boot Camp
Wednesday 6:00-7:00 pm

This program is designed to increase the rate at which you metabolize oxygen, improve swimming efficiency, tone your entire body and can help you lose weight without putting excess stress on your joints.

8 Week Summer Session: Members $65.00, Guests $95.00

Deep Water Fusion
 - Tues & Thurs 9:20-10:20am

Members join in this advanced body conditioning workout! Instructors use the deep end of the pool to give you a maximum fat burning, muscle toning water experience. Participants should be comfortable in deep water.

Aqua Aerobics Class with Danielle
- Tuesday & Thursday from 2:15pm-3:15pm

This aqua fitness class is held in the shallow water for participants who are seeking a less intense workout. This class will use the waters natural resistance for increasing muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular efficiency with reduced stress on joints. Safe, effective and most of all fun!
