Do I

A. No. Center membership is open to all.

Q. If I am visiting the area, but belong to a JCC at
home, do I pay a visitor fee?
A. No. The SAAJCC has a reciprocity policy with all other JCC's. All you
have to do is show a current JCC membership card and you can use the
facility for 30 days.

Q. I am thinking of joining. Can I use the facility
for a week to see if I like it?
A. Due to liability issues, we only allow members to use the facilities.
However, we encourage tours of the Center and enjoy answering any of your
questions or concerns. If you are not sure about what time of day is best
for you to work out, we suggest you visit us at different times to meet our
staff and speak with some of our great members.

Q. What a great childcare center. How can I enroll
my children?
A. Membership to the SAAJCC is required in order to enroll in the Raymond
and Ruth D. Laven Early Childhood Center. As members of the Center, your
family can use the fitness center, pools, and so much more. For more
information on enrolling your child in the Early Childhood program, contact
Sharon Mudge at 518-689-0039 or SharonM@saajcc.org.

Q. I like to wear my old sweats. Is there a dress
code at the Center?
A. Not really. All we ask is that you think about safety and dress
appropriately for the activity. We do require bathing caps in the pools if
your hair is over 6 inches long.

Q. What is in the "Health Club"?
A. Our Health Club is an area located within the Fitness Center, offered as
an alternative to the first floor locker rooms. Amenities include a carpeted
changing area, upgraded lockers, private showers, and an infrared, dry heat
sauna. The Health Club is open to all adult members, age 18 and older.
Locker keys are available for check-out at the Control Desk. Men and women
have alternating hours to use the Health Club. These hours are posted at the
Control Desk and on the door of the Health Club.

Q. I haven't worked out in years. Is there someone
who can help me?
A. When a new member joins the Center, we encourage them to schedule a free
orientation and assessment with one of our certified personal trainers.
After your complementary orientation, speak with our personal trainers about
setting up a series of Personal Training sessions. Our trainer will happily
price out a program to meet your health.

Q. May I bring a guest to the Center?
A.
The first Thursday of every month is free guest day for up to four guests
per membership (not per individual) for use of the gym and fitness center; a
total of two guests per membership per day for use of the outdoor pools.
Guests are welcome to use the fitness center, gym, and indoor/outdoor pools
during open and lap swimming times, but are not eligible to attend any
fitness or aquatic classes.
Members may purchase guest passes for $10 per person, per day.
Passes for Saturday must be purchased in advance. Local guests are welcome
for a maximum of 5 visits in a 12 month period. All guests must be
accompanied by a member.
